A good newsletter can be a great way to keep in touch with your local fans, followers, customers, clients and the local south jersey community writ large. But lots of local business owners seem to think that it's either too time consuming to start - or, that it's too technically challenging to get off the ground.

You can start a Substack newsletter for free. (you only have to pay for Substack if you're charging your subscribers for "premium" content, which is largely unnecessary for 80% of local business use cases.
Newsletter services like Flodesk, Buttondown are both great, and while they charge a small fee per month, are far more affordable than alternatives like Convertkit - Mailchimp and similar more "enterprise" grade email marketing tools.
